Estimator Residential Construction

An innovative construction company is currently seeking to fill the role of full time Senior Construction Estimator.

The Senior Construction Estimator is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with clients on behalf of the company by taking personal and complete responsibility for each customer contact and by ensuring that all customer requirements are completely met. Their job is to be clients advocate throughout the construction process from conception to completion of residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • General and Administrative
  • Communicate effectively with the President, Administrators, and Client Care Representative
  • Comply with all Worksafe safety requirements, work rules and regulations.
  • Compile and maintain all required paperwork, electronic records and documents.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in company directives.
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed
  • Coordinate all activities on construction site including:
    • Working closely with Architects, Engineers and Designers
    • Overseeing all tendering and estimating
    • Monitoring trades movements and craftsmanship on site
    • Materials ordering and delivery
    • Client and authority inspections
    • Monitoring and reporting job site safety
    • Documenting control prior to and during construction
    • Guaranteeing customer objectives are met
    • Complying with all WorkSafe requirements, and the company code of conduct, as well as job site regulations.
  • Compiling and maintaining required electronic records and documents
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in company directives
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed
  • Meet with homeowners in a timely and professional manner
  • Process customer project bids in a courteous, efficient and timely manner
  • Organize workflow to meet customer deadlines

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales or customer service and/ or business
  • 6 years working knowledge of the residential and commercial building industry
  • A minimum of 3 years in construction estimating and preferred education in estimation
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Architects/Engineers/Designers
  • Excellent command of the English language in both written and oral forms
  • Must have a valid B.C. Driver License
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements
  • Must be computer literate and current on new technologies
  • Hardworking and a problem solver
  • Exceptional phone and customer service skills
  • Positive and upbeat attitude
